Soft intervention

My days in Sardinia were characterised by the Easter celebrations in the small rural village of Milis where the residency was located. The use of fabrics in particular caught my attention. The covering and uncovering of the statues of Jesus and Mary was an essential part of the processions. Crosses with fabric bows were hung from the houses. And the young priest wore splendidly decorated robes. During a trip to the sea I found lots of things on the beach. Among them was a stick that had been smoothed by the water. With a vision in mind, I sewed a cover for the stick from a used curtain that I had bought at home in a second-hand shop. On my second trip to the sea, I took the stick with me again. Back in its natural environment, these photos were taken.
